Just wanted to throw this out there, went there last night...oh man oh man...was awesome.
Look at this pizza!
Their rail bourbon was Beam...but it also costs $4/drink...so they don't really have a rail then do they?

They do have good food. The bad thing is, they are apparently closing in the near future. I had heard possibly in the next two weeks... However, this did come from a coworker who goes there all the time.

Before Christmas last year they said they were going to try to stick it out till the summer. They were relying on a lot of family to help out. It does suck because they are GREAT and down the street!

That sucks if it's true that they might close. They have good food. I own a business near them and they really got screwed by the owner of the strip mall they are in. He allowed a Little Ceasars pizza to open up right next to them. Cheap and fast in this economy. Brutal!!!

The owners of Joe Bush's were former co-owners of JJ Twigs in Des Peres. If you love the pizza you can always go there to get it (I know you don't do the county battra, just saying for anyone else).
I loved the place as well. Bummers!
If anyone gets down there before they close, order a Haley's Comet. It's not on the menu (at least it wasn't the last time I went) but it is a Twigs favorite and the "pepperoni-est" pizza you will ever have.

Des Peres? I do go into the county from time to time, but not often.
No real point...except for a few certain things...like my karaoke bar's in the county....can go back in two more weeks!
But Des Peres...that's um...like a half hour from where I live....when I could go to Rileys and get pizza.

I think it's great that you love the city. Really I do. But is it possible that you can love the city without knocking the county?
Most county people in the food forum seem more than willing to enter the city.
Couldn't you simply say that your not traveling 30 min for pizza without the put downs?
It's really getting old.

There was no put down.
I have NEVER put down the county.
I speak only about myself. There is no point in me driving from the River to Des Peres to get a pizza.
There aren't many things in the County that I cannot acquire in the City...hence no real point.

Battra, I understand completely that you want to support the city (I live there too) but I can see where county people would get sensitive about this subject, especially since they are willing to come into the city for ballgames, restaurants, nightlife, etc, and also are willing to work here although they pay us an earnings tax.
Just hoping this doesn't turn into a city vs. county argument as can happen with this topic, since we're all in this together.
Back on topic, is this place in the old Famous Barr parking lot? And do they have enough TVs it would be a good place to watch a game at?
