Unfortunately we have multiple times.

Dr Anderson operated on 2 of our dogs.

Not sure what you pet needs surgery for but ours came through the surgeries fine. They both received great care while they were there and they always provided updates.

Hope everything turns out well with your pet & good luck.

Ouch. I am sorry to hear that.

Hopefully not a large dog and can recover quicker.

Both of ours were large.

The first 120 lbs. Had to have a mass removed toward the back leg. This was done at their old location on Brentwood. Dr Anderson was actually excited since he said had never seen a mass like that before. Rolling Eyes

The second was on our English Mastiff who is now 186 lbs. He had to have shoulder surgery when he was younger. He will be 4 in January and hasn't had any issues since then.

Of course it's not a fun process to go through and not cheap. I would recommend them based on our experiences there. Hopefully yous turns out well also.

Good luck and hope everything turns out well for you & the dog.

My basset was operated on by Dr. Anderson. He had a separated shoulder and was casted for 10 weeks. He now races around like a bullet again. Dr. Anderson is an absolutely amazing vet and regarded by his peers as one of the best. The entire staff there is wonderful, compassionate, and skilled. Tell them that Elwood says hi!

You can be so proud for not taking the 'easy' way out. You are willing to extend the little life, if possible. It anything makes me happy, when I read something like this that owners are not giving up on their pets. They are so very worth it. And don't think for a moment that they aren't aware of your efforts. Dogs are remarkable. They surely give back much more than they receive, at least mine do. I would walk wherever to save my dogs.

Good luck and please keep in touch. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

My family and I were referred to Vet. Specialty Services in August. Our dog had THE BEST care. She got really sick very suddenly and ultimately we had to put her to sleep. This was only after a battery of test all of which were humane and reasonable to determine what was going on. She was in critical condition when she arrived and was seen immediately. The Dr had seen her and was talking with me within 30 minutes. I was able to visit with our dog in the back room. During this time another dog was starting to whine . One of the techs immediately opened the cage and sat with the dog. She put a pillow on her lap and let the dog lay its head on her lap. Even thought I was sad to leave my dog overnight I knew by witnessing this that she was in the very best place she could have been!!!! It was a horrible experience losing my dog but it was made easier by the staff and Doctors at VSS. I highly recommend it!!!

Sorry about your loss, never ever easy. one thing you must know is, you did what you could. Some things are beyond our control and i sure don't know the answer to that. We only have to accept the outcome and feel it was the BEST for your precious friend. so very sad. A person does not want to see suffering for anything they love. Death is somewhat easier to accept when you think of treatments and hope that may have taken place. I am grateful you had this opportunity to get help. Do you know what brought this on? You wrote it was suddenly.

May you be able to look forward to a day when you can fill your life with joy and happiness once again. Thanks for sharing such heartfelt memory.

Our German Shepherd was operated on by Dr. Anderson. She had ruptured a couple disks in her back and we thought we would have to put her down. Our vet referred us to him and he did emergency surgery to restore feeling to my dog's lower extremities. She gets around good now, she has a little arthritis from it, but overall our experience was very good.
