I got a new asphalt driveway last year. Yesterday I had it sealed. Since this is something new to me, I am asking if coating over leaves is something to worry about? The wind was crazy yesterday and the man tried to clear the area but today I see leaves showing through the coating. It does look rather bad. Would you contact the owner and tell him? AS I said this is something new.

Personally, yes I would tell the owner. You obviously didn't get what you paid for. If you can see the leaves through the sealer it really isn't sealed, is it. As soon as moisture gets under those leaves your sealer is useless.

I do not like to criticize anyone on their work but as you say 'what I paid for'.

Thanks for response, seems everyone in my family just doesn't know any thing. appreciate your time.

this ranks right up there with the picure seen on thhe internet quite a bit of a dead possum that line stripers just painted over. no way should they have covered leaves and if they were the least be responsible would have swept them or rescheduled for a day when the leaves wouldnt be a problem.
shoddy work.

Well, since you both agree about leaves being sealed over, I surely will look for another company next year. Shame, this person is one who laid the new driveway and he did good job on the new job as far as I know. I just considered since he laid new driveway he would seal likewise. Could he do anything about it since it is messed up like this, other than seal completely again? isn't it similar to painting a room? I just am not familiar with asphalt sealer.

In order to keep driveway in good condition people have told me to seal once year. Do you go along with this? I just am sorry to have to see the leaves beneath the coating. It doesn't look like a perfect job. As you stated should have waited till leaves weren't problem.

I am sure sorry the way customers get treated when they deserve better. When working at AB Mr Busch, the father of III IV etc, always considered the customer before anyone. He was certainly demanding that we all feel the same way he did. Those days are gone when you got what you paid for! I am sorry to be so cynical. Always respect someone who does the job the way it should be.

I was taught, do the job right as if you were doing work for yourself.

Appreciate your comments and time. Thanks
