Has anyone seen Damon play the outfiled in these games? He couldn't throw out Oprah from third on a short fly ball.

On April 14, 2009, Nady suffered a right-elbow injury which ultimately required surgery despite an initial attempt to rehab the injury. The surgery will sideline him for an extended period of time, and is possibly career threatening, as the success rates for multiple elbow ligament replacement surgeries is lower.[3]

Nady will require a second Tommy John surgery to repair his ailing right elbow and is done for the 2009 MLB season. Nady is also questionable for most of 2010. [4]

Latest news from a couple weeks back...

Nady (free agent) is progressing well from Tommy John, should be ready to play in spring.

If Nady is healthy I almost wouldn't mind seeing the Cardinals sign him, while bring back Glaus and DeRosa, with Nady/Glaus coming off injury they could be had at a reduced price with the possibility of brining back additional draft picks in 2010 with bounce back years rehabbing their value.

DeRo can go back to the super utility role playing 2nd vs LHP and fill in for Luddy, Nady and Glaus once a week to keep them fresh and could step into starting in case of injury.

Career vs LHP:
.308/.383/.471/.854 for Xavier Nady
.299/.368/.490/.859 for Mark DeRosa
.277/.399/.558/.957 for Troy Glaus

vs LHP in 09:
.233/.312/.362/.674 Cards Team Total
.338/.465/.696/1.161 Albert Pujols

ok...perhaps im crazy...but under Jermaine Dye's player page on mlb, under the awards and honors part, he apparantly won 2006 world series MVP. Not too shabby i think...if he can be our mvp for a world series and not even be on the team, we definitely should sign him!

Dye also murders lefthanded pitching!

Rumor has it Dye had some back problems that caused his production to suffer in the second half. So there may be a question to whether or not he is healthy. Sorry I don't have an official source on his possible injury, just saw it in the forums on the WhiteSox website. Then again even a Jermaine Dye at 80%-90% healthy may be enough of a threat to stick behind Hombre anyway.

I am not the biggest fan of Ludwick, but why trade him when you are losing Holliday, DeRosa and with a rookie at 3rd who you have no idea what to expect? Nady, yes, IF HE IS HEALTHY, which is a big IF.

Godzilla? Seriously? Um, no. He is going to be 36 next year - http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7042
The Yanks plan on keeping either him or Damon, and leaning towards Damon, and many think he will be going to Seattle.
Dye...don't know what he has left but he might be worth a shot. My concern is that you are getting much older and all players have injury concerns.

I'd really like to see Cards keep Ludwick @ Rf, & Ankiel as 4th outfielder, as both are good outfielders & have all the tools.
Hopefully with Mark working with them on hitting, they'll both improve!

Figuring we have 3 areas of concern; LF, SP, 3rd base.
