Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning last November's Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29

Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

It's sad when people post inaccurate and recycled emails. IMO, it shows we are turning into a nation of unthinking automatons too afraid to think critically for ourselves.

I depend on the government for nothing. Never have. Never will.

Critical thinking skills simply aren't developed in our educational system. They prepare kids for their precious proficiency tests and that's it. Very sad... and dangerous.

I also think it's wonderful that we live in a country where bad things only happen to bad people. That is a load off my mind. I was afraid I might get sick or injured or lose my job. Since none of these things will ever happen to me, we can just eliminate all government assistance programs.

Whew!

It won't be long when the tax rate will be 70% to pay for all the government entitlements, programs and workers. THat's when the libs will be happy.

Can't speak for the libs, but I'd be happy when you rightwingnuts grow up or at least some semblance of adult maturity. Either that or you all die off, either way I don't care.

I'm not a Repub or a Dem. A freind sent me this just kinda sums up what I've posted on this board before.

We have become Government Dependents and can't find our way to the table with out Government help.

Not long ago the lefties were up in arms over the term Maobama. I had no feeling one way or another till now after reading and listening to excerpts from the Health Care Bill being proposed. This is not a health care for the poor bill, this is a take over of private enterprise to control even more citizens through dependency.

Did Professor know it all tell you that Obama won the same areas basically that Bush won in 2004?
