i.e. when there is a 3-0 count, the ensuing pitch must be a foot out of the strike zone in order to be called a ball? this is only one, but i know there are many more. please mention such occurrences that may strike you as odd.

When the manager goes to the mound after the pitching coach already did before, he changes pitchers.

lol. when there is an appeal to the 1st/3rd base umpire on a check swing, the ONLY time said umpire will ring a batter up for a third strike is in a crucial situation. i.e. when there are runners in scoring position. (dang, i'm using too many of these up.)

After an infielder makes a throwing error, he will look at his glove.

When a fielder loses one in the sun or--ahem--the lights, he then looks up at said sun or lights as if replaying the miscue.

When an announcer mentions what great control a pitcher has, he immediately walks the batter.

When an umpire has a close call, one of the teams thinks he blew it.

Hey Redbirdjunkie, you're right. Yadi just recently started doing it, but it's not a crucifix. It's is recently passed father's ring that Yadi wears on a chain around his neck.

Not sure if this qualifies or not but I'll give it a shot.

After Yadi or Albert hits a ground ball to any infielder they proceed to walk to first base.
