atogwe is terrible....that interception total last year was a fluke.he has to be one of the worst safeties in coverage.lots of tackles...but its because he is there way too late
I also think Atogwe leads the Rams in "ole'" type tackles, too. He always takes the wrong angles because he doesn't want to get there to have to make a hit...

Slaten spoke about this yesterday. It wasn't just Atogwe, there was someone else dancing with him. I don't remember who he said it was. Also, do you know when they were dancing? It happened during the stoppage in play right after our kickoff for giving up that wonderful safety on the interception. So, the defensive unit makes a boneheaded play ..... then we dance.
The Ramies are amusing.
Maybe some players do this to keep their muscles loose during the TV time outs. Or maybe they are just hyper and it's a way to ease tension while waiting for play to resume. Players have to spend a lot of time just standing around on the field during TV time outs. It's no big freaking deal if some of them don't just stand there like statues while waiting.
Maybe. Or, maybe he's just another stupid Ramie with no common sense. Maybe.

Thats why Atogwe is second on the team in tackles playing FS he already has over 50 tackles and is on pace to have a career high...he is taking much better angles this year.

Yeah, I think Bernie overreacted a bit on this one. If the Rams were down 30-7 and he was dancing it would be one thing. He was just having a little fun waiting for play to resume after a TV timeout. Just because they're a bad team doesn't mean they can't have a little fun every now and again. His numbers may be down but with as horrid as the Ram CBs are you can't expect the guy to be everywhere. Pressure creates turnovers. The Rams don't pressure the passer. Not Atogwe's fault.
Overreacted? Give. Me. A. Break. When you are a winless team, you don't dance...you run off the field. But only in 2009 would people actually think a losing team should be out there dancing and acting like a bunch of fools.
I guess the fans are the fools in this one.
So you want him to run off the field while they're waiting to restart play. Uh...what?
No, I want him to man up and after a great play, to shut up and get back into the huddle. In other words, if you are a 2-14 team, and you dance, you should be called out for it and laughed at.

You know, all this talk about dancing, and I think the only endzone dance to be suspended in modern times was the Bob 'N Weave. Yet, Chad Johnson and the rest of the clowns can act like individualistic morons. So, suspend the "team" dance and let the individuals run wild? Good call NFL.
Then again, the Bob 'N Weave was suspended because Dennis Green cried like a baby after the Rams destroyed the Vikings in '99.

I hear what you're saying, but ........ When you're 0 for the last 17, you suck, your defensive teammate just gave up a safety on a boneheaded play, and you're currently battling the other worst team in the league ....... well you probably should be thinking about something other than dancing. The same can be said for Avery dancing after a TD when you're getting your azzzzzz kicked.
Is it a big deal? No!
Is it stupid? You bet!

As a leader and exec..I've always had a smile and a laugh going on. It's my personality. But....there are people that think you don't care and see it as a sign of weakness. When this happens to me, I always hand people their :!: zes...with a laugh and a smile. Guess what....I can can fire you with a smile and a laugh.
Don't misinterpret smiles, laughter, or for this matter, dancing as uncaring or being weak.
As a matter of fact it shows that they are playing with enthusiasm.

People take sports way too seriously. I think any Ram who doesn't dance during the Saints game should be cut.
If I don't see Jason Brown doing the robot in the huddle, I'll be outraged. Outraged!

I'm pretty sure our defensive crew will be doing the backwards shuffle during the Saints game. They may even be moon walking.

I sure hope we don't overpay for him. When Atogwe is getting turnovers, he looks good. But when he doesn't, it's quite obviously that he becomes a liability. He's a poor tackler, he takes bad angles and isn't good in coverage. I'll never forget that Touchdown LaDainian Tomlinson had where he stiff armed Atogwe to the dirt, and the countless other times Atogwe has missed a tackle, taken a bad angle and been a liability in coverage.
On his dancing, he can dance after his play on the field increases, and after he gets an interception or something to help the team out.
Until then, help get your teams focus on the game, not trying to impress with your dance skills.
