The unemployment rate among the 4-12 demographic is even higher than it is among teenagers. Wal-Mart's action will only serve to make unemployment worse in this age group, and deny these dedicated young workers the satisfaction of paying for their own Ride 'n Learn Giraffe Bikes this Christmas.

A prime example of big government getting in the way of a private business trying to make a profit. I am sure the owners of the company are use to living in luxury and gosh darn it if they have to keep cost down by hiring inexpensive labor, so be it. Those kids can learn more about life picking fruit in the field than they can learn in the first grade. Who needs schools. Just another example of big government.

You have to love the republican plan. Export all manufacturing to China, all tech and service jobs to India, and import children from Mexico to work in Agriculture.
Those kids from Mexico know how to compete.

Keep messing around and we'll lose a vital (but unspoken) part of our workforce, those who are willing to jump the border fence (of Kindercare) to do the jobs that grown-ups won't do.

Walmart did however take names knowing they would make excellent future employees when they reach legal age and willingly work overtime for low wages and few benefits.

Wal-Mart, is starting to resemble what I believe commisaries in the Soviet Union used to look like. Have you seen their new plain label stuff?
Perhaps Wal-Mart should look into their blueberry pickers in Chile and their shrimp and fish workers from China, Indonesia, Thailand, and VietNam. Did y'all ever think American retailers would be selling shrimp from VietNam? Ummm Umm Umm.
Mind boggling that some Wal Marts sell this stuff exclusively and don't even offer a Gulf or Alaskan shrimp at any cost.
