In 1979 the Big Red drafted a huge RB out of Miami O.J. Anderson. He was the rookie of the year and the MVP that same year. OJ had a 7 year run here in St.Louis setting quite a few team and NFL records for the time. He was traded for draft picks in 1986 when every body thought he was washed up. Anderson was almost 6'3" and 229 pounds at that time. For 5 years he was a dominant
force on a bad series of teams. Sounds kind of familiar doesn't it? OJ could run over or through tackles he once carried four Cowboys almost 10 yards. One of those guys was Randy White a Hall of Fame DE. OJ had 70 receptions 1 one season and lead the NFL in yards from scrimmage. There are many thing about these 2 superb runners that are eerily the same. Big difference was OJ had Jim Hart and Neill Lomax as his QB's here and Phil Sims and Jeff Hofstettler in New York. OJ ended his time with over 10,000 yards. SJ is on that pace. Having a workable passing game to lessen his load kept Anderson in the NFL for 14 years. SJ deserves and needs that to extend his.

O.J. Anderson was definitely better than Steven Jackson. O.J. ran for 1605 yards in his ROOKIE season while SJ still hasn't touched that.
Remember the Otis and Theotis club? Or after he left the O.J. and E.J. club?
