I can hardly stand the wait until this movie is released. I adore Phillip Seymore Hoffman. So many wonderful roles. Loved him in Flawless and in The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Any buzz about Pirate Radio in advance of its release?

Hoffman was in Charlie Wilson's War, right? The CIA guy?

Although I've yet to visit England, I certainly was well-enough aware of the pirate radio station situation at the time in the 60s, and how it impacted Brit-Rock & Pop in the day. Yeah, I' ll go see this one.

Yep, as Gus Avrakotos - another great role played to perfection by PSH.

That was great. Favorite character in that movie.

It's got an iconic '66-'67 soundtrack (Who, Stones, Turtles, Kinks) and a big, talented cast enacting a lightly rebellious romp with romantic-comedy subplots.
I'm a sucker for that time period and I liked the movie.
Opens here next Friday.

Don't forget he was the stage hand in Boogie Nights and the ex-child star in Along Came Polly.

Which is pretty much what he's playing in "Pirate Radio."

And then there's Capote. PSH demonstrates incredible range, which IMHO is a rare gift among contemporary actors.

I also liked him in Synecdoche, New York. He is one of my favorite actors, although I was indifferent to Mission Impossible 3 and The Red Dragon. I have yet to see Doubt, but I hear he's very good in that too.
