While the Bulger slide was disgraceful, Jim Everett's phanton sack in the 1989 NFC Championship Game was much worse.

I remember that game.
I really thought we were going to the SB after going on the road and owning Philly and the Flipper straight to the tunnel catch in OT in the Meadowlands. I remember being so psyched for that championship game.

One of the all time most disapointing moments as a Rams fan. Everett appeared to grow into a man just a couple months before in the Superdome, finally ignoring Pat Swilling hammering away at him to lead a come back from down 17-3 with under 5 to play. And then this! The team never recovered--and went from 2nd best team in the NFL to :!: overnight.
I'll never forget how much I wanted to play the 49ers again after we choked the 35-34 game eralier in the season (for those with short memories, up 34-21 with under five to play and on the SF four yard line about to seal the deal when Everett fumbles the snap). We jumped on them early in the playoff game (3-0) and the pass was on it's way to Flipper Anderson that was about to make it 10-0 when Ronnie Lott covered half the field to tip the ball away and things went due South from there.
