You get your choice of either provel or mozzarella as your first topping, then you can either get one of their specialty pizzas, or get your own toppings. The crust is thin, but not cracker-thin. A 9" cheese pizza is $7.00 and it's $1.75 per ingredient that's added to the top.

About 20 minutes after I'd ordered, my pizza showed up in front of me. The toppings were plentiful and it was the big chunks of sweet Italian sausage that all pizzas should have - not that stupid ground sausage like they do in the Quad Cities. And from my first bite, I liked it. The sauce wasn't as sweet as Guido's (which I think is too sweet). I also liked the thin crust better at Milo's than I did on the Rigazzi's pizza. The sausage and pepperoni had a nice little bite to it and the mushrooms seemed to be fresh. The young lady over at Urzi's was right - it was a very good pizza, quite possibly the best of the ones that I've tried on The Hill. It was surprisingly good.

IMHO Lou Boccardi's has the best pizza on the Hill, but I have not tried Milo's, I will have to give it a try. Didn't that used to be Rose's a long time ago?

No. Rose's was on the corner of Daggett and Edwards.

I lived for many years just three blocks from Milo's. Do they still have "The Wall" to honor their heaviest drinkers?

I suppose years ago being able to hold one's huge quantities of liquor was an honorable boast, but with the way times and views of alcohol consumption have changed, I just wonder if that's still a point of pride at Milo's.

Clark, they no longer do it. Even if you have a DD. I think it had something to do with alcohol poisoning. Maybe someone else can fill you in.

You may be getting them confused because Rose's was one of the only bars that had bocce, and now Milo's is the last one I know of.

I'm 99% sure that Molly is right, as I'm almost positive that Rose's and Milo's both existed at the same time at one point.

Not to brag but I am 100% correct. We had friends who lived just down the street on Daggett and I spent many a night drinking bottles of beer and playing foosball at Rose's. Never did the bocce ball thing.

Of course those were my young single days Wink

Back in my young single days we'd go from Rose's to Milo's to Rose's, depending on who was meeting who where and how crowded it was, etc. I did do the wall one time but I can't remember which wall --there were three or four choices. (In hindsight I'm glad they don't do it anymore.) I'm pretty sure I remember playing bocce ball at Rose's though (outdoors). The link in the original post says Milo's didn't install their bocce courts until 1989, well past my young single days. I was just there a couple weeks ago with a group of girlfriends. I've never had the pizza, but their grilled chicken wings are really good.

So you dropped the foosball part of the evening? Smile

Do they at least still have the Wall "hall of fame" still up? If not, that's two nights of my life that I'll never get back. Cool

The lists of names, covering a large wall, is still there in all it's glory. I found two of my brothers names as well as mine, oh what memories of my first case of acid reflux that brings back.
