All the hype and high rankings to the West County and South County teams, when it comes down to it the North and the City teams make the deep run into the playoffs. Be aware of Trinity, Normandy, Hazelwood E, Hazelwood C and McCluer N. Add U. City to the list even though they are West they are not highly publicized. What do you guys think

I agree the best football in st.louis is the North County and the City Schools(talent not coaching CA coach)Hazelwood East,Central will always be in the mix. Teams Like Berkeley last year now Trinity. My Dark Horse U-City. From CCIN (Charter) to the rankings and the paper no love.

The Suburban North has always been tough. The teams that play better competion during the regular season are always a more prepared for the playoffs. The way MO playoffs are done, it doesn't matter what your record is until districts. So a lot of teams with weak schedules believe they are actually that good then get punched in the mouth in the playoffs.

Agreed, all we ever hear about is Affton, Timberland and Parkway this and that, but these schools are no where to be found when the smoke clears. Come on gimme a break! Everyone knows the best ball is played up north. Don't be surprised to see an all Hazelwood sweep at state again this year.

You have got to be joking there is absolutely no way either Hazelwood will win a state championship this year. I know what your saying thats what they said last year and look what happened and i dont wanna take away from that but last year East didn't endure a 4 game losing streak, and lose to a Central team who hardly beat UCity who was blown out by Parkway North who lost to Webster Groves so its ridiculous to think they can stand with those teams. The best football in MO has been played on the West side for the past couple years regardless of the hazelwoods taking both class 5 and class 6 championships home last season and as far as St. Louis football the hazelwoods cant stand with the MCC this year so I WOULD be VERY SUPRISED to see an all hazelwood sweep this year.

To think both Hazelwoods will win at state is insane. Hazelwood Central will make a deep run and could possibly win Class 6 but Hazelwood East will make a prompt exit next Saturday to Webster Groves, who is loaded.

As for the overall football argument, both the Suburban South and North have played great football this year. I wouldn't say either conference is better than the other, but you can't look past teams like Parkway North, Parkway Central, and Webster Groves this year. North and Webster have a chance to go to the dome and Webster might be the best team in the area.

YeahYeah, to say the North can't play with the MCC though is a joke. I've seen all the MCC schools play this year and I've seen one good team, DeSmet. Chaminade is one dimensional. SLUH simply isn't very good. Vianney was terrible this year and CBC will have a prompt first round exit in the playoffs to Hazelwood central. Any MCC team except DeSmet and MAYBE Chaminade would have posted a losing record in the Suburban North this year.

The sub north is not the only tough conference. I tip my hat to the Suberban south this year. They have some teams: Webster, Parkway North, Parkway Central and U-City. The path through the class 5 championship goes through the Suberban south this year.

Well as a Timberland fan, why would I rep YOUR team? I rep MY team. Rolling Eyes

Parkway Central beat a 3 win McCluer squad that starts freshmen by less than 10 points. Webster is great, and U-City is well prepared, but there is no way the Suburban South can be considered a good conference for football.

Year in and year out the Suburban South as a whole is just as tough as the North. If you are going to defend the North then defend all of it's teams I mean sure the Hazelwoods are always competitive and Mclure North has been good but look at the Suburban South's teams that are consistently good. Parkway Central always tough, Parkway North always tough, Eureka until the last few years always very tough, Parkway West has had some really good teams in previous years even Summit has had it's years. And of course Webster I still think they go undefeated in the Suburban North bc I think they are the best team in the state

Wrong to the tenth power. Webster Groves would not beat Hazelwood Central, especially the way they are playing now.
