...for the sake of having set lines?

I disagree. Especially when the team is in dire need of a goal. I don't think Perron, Oshie, Boyes, etc. have any problem taking a few irregular shifts.

And we all know Murray would take even more flak if Cam played 15 min in a 1-goal loss.

OK, Yeah, I'll jump in here.

Yes. Honestly, Can't play much worse than some of the "Scoring" veterans....and at least Cam isn't afraid to hit...he doesn't pull up at the last minute. I like the energy he has on the ice.

The issue the Blues are having is about finishing scoring chances, not checks. Janssen adds nothing that will solve the big problem, not putting the puck in the net. While I'll agree that he has improved, that's still not what this team needs. Personally I have no idea why they even wanted to consider carrying both Janssen and King before D.J. got hurt, as I don't see a place for either. Both Winchester and Crombean are willing to go and both have far more upside offensively (at least they did last season) than Janssen will ever have. I'd prefer that when McDonald comes back that Eller stay and Janssen practice his commentary from the booth upstairs, because that's where his real career is most likely at.

That's nice and all, but show me a winning team that has an enforcer paired with it's supposed top line.

How is the scoring supposed to get started if Janssen is on the ice. A dramatically slumping Brad Boyes is going to pot more goals then the hottest Cam Janssen.

So I guess you didn't see what Cam did in the limited ice time in the game against Carolina. His hit was the reason the ice opened up and the defender coughed up the puck to Yan Stastny for his goal this season. But I guess you are right, solid forechecking never leads to quality scoring chances. Shooting pucks that don't hit the net do. Let's let Brad do more of that.

Yep those "hits" where he misses the other guy completely and just slams into the boards/glass must really impress you. He hits people about half as often as some of you think.

And how many other times has that happened due to Cam? Answer- about zero. Just because it happened once doesn't mean he deserves more ice. I saw Joe Murphy skate hard for a shift once......

Glad someone else realizes that's the case.

Additionally, looks like people are buying into Pang's crazed insistence in the Carolina game that Cam caused that turnover--the guy had turned the puck over well before Cam hit him, Cam just happened to finish a check after the puck was gone.

Rolling Eyes Having set lines does not mean the 4th liners go out there every 4th shift. If you think people are wanting set lines with the 4th line playing 25% of the game, then you are taking this the wrong way. Most of us are wanting to see consistency in the lines for the top 3 lines when they are on the ice instead of the current approach where is seems Murray is just picking names from a hat for every shift.

I like Janssen, but if he in only going to play a minute and a half a game, bring Stastny back up and use him.

I'd really like to see Cam play, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen, so let's actually have/use 12 forwards

Bottom line is the Blues aren't finishing their checks, their not getting in on the opposition's defense and forcing turnovers. Their playing the dump and chase game but it seems like they can't get the chase part down this year ..

Let Janssen play at least 8 or 9 mins in a game. It's sad to see him sit on the bench the whole game. I agree he isn't the best player on the roster but he can add something to the team when he plays. Janssen is a hockey player and what the Blues need now are players that can do the simple easy stuff and just play. The way the whole team is playing I would doubt Crosby could score any goals being in our line-up.
