Why do you hate our troops?

I don't hate them.

Replacing current security (MPs?) with a bunch of TSA bureaucrats? That's some hate, baby. Wink

But, now they're all terrorist suspects, just like me every time I enter an airport. A rogue USA soldier attacked our country yesterday.

Which could have been part of the intention. In my view it was just another battle in the GWoT, only fought on home turf. In a way similar to the flying Imams, who I think were trying to lax the security on obvious targets. Glad a female officer took him down, especially after he killed a pregnant woman.

I view him more like Hannibal Lecter. They both terrify me. He'll be hard to probe to get to the truth, unless he wants to come clean. He's been trained on the techniques used to probe a brain.

I don't think any of the flying Imams were USA born and raised citizens, were they? So why am I treated as though I could be just like one of them?

Gloating about the "attack", are you? And since this was a Virginian, oh ye of limited gray matter, killing Americans, it's not an attack.

Where would you get that idea? Just because this officer made it clear he was a Muslim first and an American second, that he could not go to help kill fellow Muslims, that he had tried to convert patients - the list goes on.

When so many tried to tell us how the Bush Administration missed connecting the dots on 9-11, this guy was out there for all to see, well known to his fellow officer corps and his superiors and just because it wasn't the PC thing to do, they did nothing.

Now, when he falls in a hail of bullets, bringing dozens with him after screaming the Jihadist's mantra - as did the pilots of the 9-11 aircraft - I'm waiting for someone from the left to acknowledge that the ball was dropped here.

Think it's crying "wolf"? Tell that to the 40 or so families of the dead or wounded tonight.

That's actually a terrifying combination--a Hannibal Lector in a Jihadi suit. As for me, until further info comes in I consider this a closet Muslim fundamentalist deciding to do his duty. Was he whacked? Yep, enough to do his duty just the same as Mohammed Atta and the others who flew planes into buildings. But apparently not enough to attract significant attention from his superiors unless they were afraid of the ramifications.

Good question. We are presumed terrorists walking in the front door of the airport, until we prove we are not.

Who just happened to be a Muslim extremist.

These are families with lost loved ones not political talking points. We need to unite around that which is good and right in this difficult time. Just because people in times past were insensitive partisans valuing their bias over people doesn't mean the offense should be repaid. Let the Army family grieve before finding fault. There is plenty of time after the funerals for second guessing.

It's worse than that.

I'm a presumed terrorist driving on to SUS, to get to my hangar, to fly in my own plane. TSA wants to set up the same inspections for me to go onto Spirit as they have at Lambert. I carry survival gear in my plane when I go on trips. My survival bag won't pass security to bring on my own plane. If I crash, I have to fend for myself out in some forest with a plastic spoon.

Sorry bubba, that honor goes to John Wilkes Booth since you're just looking at Americans who attack Americans. You could include Mr. Burr who bit more than he could chew and bit the big one. Wink

Amen brother, the reason conservatives get mad about incidents like these is this: it's obvious there is a problem here. It's obvious we are in a struggle with fundamentalist Islam, yet many here act like nothing is doing? I'm wondering what it will take for many of these people to wake up? Do we need to have a dirty bomb or suitcase nuke detonated in a major city before they GET IT? Your d**n right we will stand up and say, we told you... It's not gloating so much as trying to point out the obvious....

So what do you propose we do to solve this issue? Start a war on terror?

That's a bummer, but I don't have to tell you that GA is a huge hole in the security system. The Muslim kid who recently stole a 172 in Canada and landed somewhere in the Ozarks didn't do you any favors.
