From the STL area ...I would say Ladue is the real darkhorse everyone is sleeping on..watched them dismantle Gateway in the first round and they pose a real threat to U City,Normandy ...and watch out for Sikeston from the bootheel area..load with good speed and athletes

You're right about the Sikeston Bulldogs BlitzDawg! Sikeston does possess the athletes to make a deep run in the playoffs. They have 2 RB's in Wimms and Eli Jackson and good speed to cover the perimeter defensively. Anyone who is interested can catch the game webcasted on kfvs.com Monday evening from Sikeston as they host archrival Poplar Bluff. Bluff is averaging over 400 yards of offense a game. Sikeston shut them out in Poplar Bluff 28-0 the next to last game of the season. This team is for REAL!!! BTW....Sikeston utterly destroyed North County in the first round Wednesday 48-6. Eli Jackson scored 4 TD's in the rout.

Fact is North County only won 3 games this year and barely got into the playoffs. I would worry about Poplar Bluff because it's the second game between them. Adjustments and all, I don't count anything until they play a St.Louis school with a winning record. I'm all for the Bulldogs and this has been an incredible year but I'm not so sure of how good they are. I do remember throughout my life teams like Ladue, Hazelwood Central, (when Sikeston was in the same classification), Parkway West and a few others totally destroying the Bulldogs when everyone thought the same things they're thinking now. I know Sikestons defense has been stellar..and the offense has been explosive. These Dogs are the best I've seen in years but we haven't seen what St.Louis has to really judge right now. First the Bulldogs need to concentrate on the Mules and if they get past them then we can look at further down the line.

The good news is that UCity and Normandy play each other and there can only be one winner. The bad news is that whichever team remains will be waiting on Sikeston. Both teams play a 5 and 6A schedule for the most part and from my perspective, the UCity vs Normandy game IS the 4A championship. See you guys when you get to the Louie!

WOW...again I say WOW....what a way to discount Jeff City Helias, Webb City, Harrisonville, K.C. Staley and bunch other school who play high quality football...I like U.City and Normandy but don't get it twisted that game is not the "state championship" game by no means...

If Normandy gets passed U-City they will not go far. They cant pass the ball, very good running game horrible passing game. U-City is more balanced, Ladue is soft compared to other 4a schools, Normandy destroyed them. Helias is the team on the other sided. Sikeston has a ton of athletes just like the st.louis teams. 4a is very interesting this year. U-City wins tomorrow because of Great coaching Duane Hathorned ex-Cowboy and balanced attack.

Well to be honest U City is pretty one sided when it come to run pass stats...and the winner of this game get the opportunity to play Helias in the next round

I'll start by saying I am defnitely a UCity supporter as are alot of posters that I have been reading lately. There are many people that have ties to University City in some kind a way and the community and the coaching staff have made this team believe they can not only make it state but also win it. Coach Hawthorne changed the culture and raised the expectations, the first thing he did four years ago when he became coach was put Hazelwood Central on the schedule his first season he won one game. From what I hear UCtiy knows who the deservedly so favorites are(Normandy,Helias,Webb City,Staley, etc.) so its no disrespect to those teams mentioned above. Do I feel UCity should actually be the favorite to win Class 4, no(of course not), so don't get all riled from all the "UCity talk" just trying to support and encourage, have the young men set high goals and work hard to achieve them.

What is scarey about this U-City team is that they have yet to play their best football. I think tomorrow you will actually see U-City put two halves together and blow Normandy out.

I am sure Normandy and U-CIty have scooted each other all season, so i doubt if there are any surprises. It will be all about execution. This is U-City second year getting to this piont. This is uncharted water for Normandy so I don't think Normandy will respond well under this spot light tomorrow.

My perdition is that U-City puts up 40points, some of those points scored on defense.

Then next Satureday U-City will play Halies at U-City.

I think everyone should concentrate on the team in front of them. Some programs probably feel like they're already in the championship game...not a smart thing to do. It's still highschool football where NOTHING is a given.
