El Birdo that's what everyone said last year when BS south beat rockhurst. I was one of them. I wont make that mistake again.

I realize that DeSmet is talented, but we are too. I have to take Jeff City by 10, but the game will be decided late. It’s been a long time since St. Louis had a playoff game of this magnitude. I can’t wait.

I think you mean Jeff City hasn't played a big game in Stl in a while. Stl area has big playoff games all the time. That's why schools such as DeSmet, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood Central and several others have won state titles in recent years. And many other big playoff games take place all the time. This is just another one for an STl team.

Big high school quarterfinal games happen every year in Stl

You can't even say that BS vs Rockhurst will be the Championship game. Yes it wil be a very good game and i'll give the hand to Rockhurst on that one. But about the Desmet vs. Jeff City game, Jeff City is good don't get me wrong but i do not see Jeff City containing this explosive offense DeSmet beat Howell 52-0 Jeff City beat Howell something like 37-14. This will be a very big game but i think once the game starts it won't like up to the Hype. I give the edge to DeSmet by a longshot. Final Score: 38-7

Desmet should handle Jeff City by 10+ Points.

Rockhurst vs Blue Springs will be a dogfight, but the Hawklets should win that one!

nike333: I think comparing scores with common opponents might not be the best way to determine an outcome. For instance, JC defeated FZW 56-7.

Jeff City has a triple-option style running game, but they don't throw the ball a heck of a lot (haven't really needed to, yet). They play excellent on special teams with a top notch kicker/punter and two game-breaking return men.

They're only two losses have both come to Rockhurst (yes, they played them twice), and they've beaten two pretty good Arkansas schools. This should be a darn good football game.

I seen Desmet last week and they are fast I think if they don't beat there selves with penalties they will win by two TD's. Penalties and Turnovers whoever wins that battle will win the game.

they Beat Fayetteville 20-18 that finished 4-3 in conference

and they beat Springdale that finished 2-5 in conference

To give you some idea Bentonville beat FZW- 50-19, Beat Fayetteville- 45-10 and Beat Springdale 28-0

while i agree stl louis always has big quarterfinal games, i still think when you bring in another team with such traditions such as kc rockhurst, rolla, jeff city, etc it raises the bar. people will go to this game, who normally don't go see local games. i've only been following hs football for the last 6 years or so, but i can't think of a bigger game that has been played in our backyard.
