Week Nine blackout update: Jaguars off, Bucs on, Bengals get extension
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 5, 2009 2:16 PM ET
At this stage, it would will be a lot more newsworthy if a Jaguars game isn't blacked out in Jacksonville. (The team is holding out hope that a December game against the Colts can sell enough tickets.)
The team officially announced Thursday that Sunday's game will not be televised locally. The Associated Press anticipates that the team could set a record low in attendance for the second straight game. The Jaguars host the Chiefs this week.
Not every Florida team will be blacked out. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Thursday that Sunday's game against Green Bay will be televised loclaly. (We wonder how many Packers fans will be in attendance?)
And for the second straight game, the Bengals have received a 24-hour extension on their blackout deadline for a big AFC North battle against the Ravens. It would be depressing if the most meaningful game Cincinnati has played since 2006 wasn't seen by the Who Dey faithful.

To me, this ensures that the Rams stay in St. Louis. If there's another team that is setting record lows in attendance, then that's the team that should move.

not so fast...remember who the rams have had at the dome...green bay, minnesota, indy ...and lots of their fans made the trip to st louis....
the jags have had at home....arizona, rams, titans and now kc...now you tell me if the rams had those teams in st louis, how many of those games would sell out?
always remember this about the nfl..its all about the money and the la rams will bring in more money than the la jags! imagine the marketing aspect of that return...

LA RAMS!...does have a nice ring to it, you gotta admit. Hate to see the team leave St. Louie, I've been there a few times, fun city, was better at the Dome in '99 than '07 though when I was there. I think the owners just rented the town for awhile and being the Carpetbaggers they are if they feel they sucked all the $$$ out, they will take it to the Next Town$$$.

This really ticks me off about the league misconception that St. Louis doesn't support
football. Even before the Big Red left our
attendance was much better than Jacksonville's
Yet Jacksonville was awarded an expansion team
instead of St.Louis.

And this for a 3-4 team this season. A team that just 2 years ago went 11-5 and beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs.
A far cry from a team that has won 6 of its last 40 games.

why are some of you so quick to think you know more about the Rams moving to LA?? Rosenbloom never said anything about a quick sell of the team. And why do you think the LA Rams sounds so good? The LA Jags sound just as good if not BETTER. Enough already about the Rams moving to LA. If it happens, it happens but truth of the matter is the Rams have a even BIGGER chance of staying put right where they belong in ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI so until it's official people should leave it alone and move to another subject.
