It's been a long time since I left Faurot Field so frustrated. Yes the coaching was awful again from our high school play calling (minus real running plays) to our dazed and confused secondary. But let's put some blame on the players too.

They played half speed, uninspired football. Aside from Weatherspoon the defense didn't attack the ball. Our DBs played 10-15 yards off the line then stood there as people ran right past them and our receivers dropped way too many passes in the second half. BG locked in on one receiver much too often and was much more erratic than his gaudy stats might indicate.

If the greedy curators at Mizzou want big time prices for their tickets they need to hold our coaches accountable. It's obvious Pinkel caught lightning in a bottle with Maclin and Daniel. Mizzou is destined to be a 6-6 to 8-4 team (with 2 or 3 exhibition wins each year to pad the record). Until Alden is run out of town things aren't going to change. Mad

Mizzou wrestling has one of the top programs in the country.

Mizzou volleyball has done progressively better and better.

Mizzou womens basketball has become competitive.

Mizzou baseball has been highly ranked at various points in the last few seasons, including getting the top ranking.

Mizzou basketball has done a superb turn-around, and would have come exceedingly close knocking off UConn last year if it weren't for the television time-out allowing the Huskies to catch their breath.

And Mizzou football has been inching their way into the top echelon of programs. While this year has been disappointing, I can't overlook the excellent recruiting and on-field performance that have characterized Pinkel's program for nearly a decade.

1. Mike Alden has assembled an excellent athletic program.

2. Gary Pinkel has assembled one of the top football programs in the US. The set-backs we are seeing this year are an unsavory combination of uncharacteristically poor coaching and young players.

Your dissatisfaction from tonight's game is understandable. But it's no reason to sell the farm in a down market.

If you think Mizzou is a top football program in the country because of 2 winning seasons, neither of which included a BCS bowl, than I have to respectfully disagree with you. They have shown improvement but by no means are they a top program in the country

Sorry, guess I can't get past his huge contract extensions to Snyder and Pinkel after one good year.
Let's don't forget how he bungled the whole Snyder fiasco and set our basketball program back for five long years!

And I wouldn't call the bad football coaching uncharacteristic. We just had enough talent to cover it up the past few years. Second half collapses have been very commonplace during the Pinkel tenure.

When we can beat the Texas and Oklahoma's of the world and schedule some big time non-conference games like the old days I will say we're a top program.

Until then we're just a state of 6 million people with only one division 1 football team that should be elite but is not.

As for the other sports that's nice but it is football that is putting up all those nice new buildings around campus (not to mention paying for all the other athletic teams).

You're free to disagree. But let's get the facts straight:
1. They would have had a BCS berth had they not played conference championship game two years ago. Missouri was clearly a better team than Kansas.
2. They would not have landed Chase Daniel had they not embarked on a successful rebuilding of the offense when Brad Smith was here. In fact, it was this change that more than any other started attracting better talent.
3. Mizzou is poised to have yet another successful recruiting season in spite of their record.

Well stated. Alden better do away with this "seat license" deal that brings in extra money JUST FOR BUYING A SEASON TICKET SEAT(S). Way to show some class Alden after Mizzou fans have supported this program over many lean years. He's an arrogant S.O.B. that needs to go, along with this incompetent coaching staff. Were officially back in the cellar with some pretty darn good talent, while K-State is on top with medicore talent. That will tell you a lot, but there are many Mizzou football fans that are just in denial.

Name one fan in here who is "in denial." Just one. Any one will do.

You all are shameful. This team with a majority of its best players being Freshman or sophomores will finish 8-6.....for twenty years that would have been reason to celebrate. This year its a disappointment. Previous years, with a Senior laden team, Tiger Nation would have been celebrating. This year, only our own are calling it a failure.

Do you all forget the Daniel, Maclin, Coffman year they lost to ISU? Lost the Sun Bowl? We're not reloading this year, sorry to say, were rebuilding. Accept it and get behind it.

You all are a disgrace.

And by the way....if Damien and Franklin move on, they were never Tigers to begin with. But I believe they will be Tigers dispite some of our sad fan base.

8-6, huh? That's a mighty impressive record for a team that will be lucky to get a 13th game this year. Make sure that you don't make yourself look like a moron before you call everyone out.

Where do you find 3 more wins on this schedule? Foget the fact you can't do math and tell me the three more wins?

Synder has taken Pinkel to the woodshed with every team he has put on the field against him whether favored or not.

ISU embarrased Pinkel in 2006, think it can't happen again? Look up yesterday's score for reference.

Mangino is 4-2 against Pinkel the last 6 games and KU can redeem a small measure of respect by winning at Arrowhead.

You have to win two of those plus win whatever toilet bowl we get invited to (if we do, that loss to Baylor will look good on anyone's bowl resume Rolling Eyes ) to get your 8 wins.

Wanna bet?

Yes, run him out of town. Let's find his home and pelt it with Molotov cocktails, tie his children to trees, roast his Golden Retriever over a fire fueled by his clothing and Christmas presents.

Arrg arrg!

Mike Alden you have done nothing for this university, nothing at all! Except for making it a well-rounded success, raised lots of money, improved facilities, and helped created a sense of pride in our Alma mater unseen in over 30 years.

Now go take your success elsewhere you pagan!

(let me know if you need me to put this in bold format and I'll re-format)
