The Party Of No just got told to sit down and act like adults, rather than spoiled little children.

Hollow victory...won't pass the Senate, won't stand up to constitutional scrutiny, won't stand up to the numerous lawsuits that follow. The dems are basically playing Weekend At Bernie's with this bill, carrying it around even though it's dead and rotting.

It is an important and historic major step. It is not however the end. We will encounter ever more desperate and hysterical obstructionism from the GOP and its allies in the insurance and pharmaceutical industries. As such, those of us who actually care about this must likewise step up our efforts to see this to its conclusion.

Wait, that can't be. Man of the West said it wouldn't happen and we all know what a bastion of truth he is.

Pelosi will not get a bill passed this weekend. She is losing votes in her own caucus faster than she can count them. The health insurance scheme she was hoping for died on Tuesday night. And she knows it. The only goal now it to put on a good show for the left wing loons so they will give campaign contributions next year.

"Hysterical" is a good word choice. The volume will go up to a fever pitch. Most people will be smart enough to ignore the tantrum.

The obstructionism will be noted and those folks who voted no will in the long run suffer.
Much of 2008 was about voting for Congress to get things done and to stop the constant partisan gamemanship.

Reform of healthcare will be in the long run a bigger success and more loved than medicare and social security,

Yes. I hope you are right. Since this bill only passed by two votes though ... Confused

Your buddies were saying just a couple months ago health care reform was dead, too.

Here's an alternate prediction: The Dems in the Senate pass a watered-down version of reform. On reconciliation in conference, the House gets most of what it wants and the same bill goes back into the Senate without the fear of needing to break a filibuster as it will be declared part of the budget (thus limiting the Senate to 10 hours of debate). Or, lacking that, the Dems call the GOP filibuster and force the GOP to sweat it out... That would be ideal as then and only then would these Senators be shown in public to be killing major health care reform. That's the stuff that makes for the best political ads around this time next year.

Really, I challenge you to name something the government has successfully fixed? When I think of the Feds, I think of Medicare, Medicade, SS, VA, USPS, Feddie, Fannie, GM, etc. That has all worked out great hasn't it??
