Landry Jones is terrible. 18-39 with 3 INTs. Losing Bradford just killed them. But it's good news for the rest of the conference if this bum is their QB next year.

Meanwhile, Nubs have about 175 yards of offense and only 7 first downs midway through the 4th quarter but are leading 10-3.

Nubbers prevail as imposters take field wearing Oklahoma uniforms. This is NOT your father's OU. Rolling Eyes

Nebraska's defense is one of the best in the nation, but even an average QB would have pulled that game out for OU. After watching the first three OU possessions, it was obvious that they were not going to be able to get anything going and their only hope was to keep it close.

Landry Jones is a good QB. It's OU's OL that sucks. Couple that with a dominant DL and you are going to make some bad plays.

But to answer your thread title...probably a little of both. But leaning more towards two teams with dominant Ds.

Nebraska is the only team in the Big 12 North with a respectable conference win this year, and unfortunately at this point the only team in the North with even modest credibility, the ISU debacle notwithstanding. The North has embarrassed itself so much this year, I am actually kind of glad NU got the win over OU, particularly since MU has no shot at the title.

Props to the Huskers on the win, even against a less than dominant OU. Wish we could say the same.

I can't see the Huskers losing another regular season game, their defense is just too dominant. They are really the hope for the North division and likely would be the only North team to give Texas a decent game in the Big 12 championship.

Only proves once again that D wins games. Unfortunately we don't have that...

NU's D is good enough to get Texas into another slugfest like tonight. I'm just hoping our offense can move from below average to just average or maybe slightly above average before then.

KU looks like they're about ready to mail in the season. KSU is gonna have to pass the ball to beat MU and NU and I don't think they can do it. Both MU and NU are good against the run...or at least NU is and mU seems to have turned to corner. And CU sucks, but is a rival, so I am sure that game will be closer than it should be.

That brings us to UT in Arlington, hopefully the Huskers can win another ugly one like tonight. Colt can be very careless with the ball.

Beating Texas will be a tall order for any North team. But NU is the only North team with an excellent anything, and it is their defense. They would have a puncher's chance because of this, and in a single game playoff, you never know.

As noted, NU's offense is really quite mediocre to poor at times. I assume the Zac Lee bandwagon is now empty. Hopefully their OC will stick around for a few more years for MU's sake. Wink

That Nebraska offense has problems, but their defense is impressive. They held OU to the fewest points since 1998. Nebraska could easily be 8-1 if not for a couple of freak plays vs. Va Tech and Iowa St. I could see them playing spoiler vs. Texas.

That's what's frustrating to me. NU should be 8-1. They'd be a pretty overrated 8-1, but 8-1 nevertheless.

If this offense could score anywhere between 17-24 points each game, NU would be very hard to beat.

Tom Shatel, Omaha World Herald columnist and Mizzou grad, says they have a 10-2 defense and a 5-7 offense. He's being very kind saying the offense could go 5-7 on it's own merits; without the defense providing their primary offense in the OU game, they likely would have come out on the short end.

If Nebraska would have had QB Joe Ganz back, and at least Nate Swift or Todd Peterson back to catch the ball, they would likely be undefeated right now. However, the "if" game works both ways; if Suh had been a senior last year, they might be 4-5 right now.
