What's up with former players turning on this years team and trying to make the injured QB the scapegoat? wow.

Why do you feel sorry for him? He could not win games in high school and was babied by the coaching staff and his handler, I mean father. He is a camp superstar and you are seeing that now. Your QB must be a winner and he is not.

Dear lord. Who the hell is Austin Huff? Some freaking walk on who never saw the field.

KingSnake:

I know all about struggling QB's considering that I root for NU. Lee and Green look as bad or worse than Gabbert, i'd say even worse. They just have the defense to hide it mostly.

You have to realize that Gabbert is also a young QB. It takes a special player to be a good Divsion I QB in their first year starting especially when he's only a sophomore.

Fans will be fans, and NU fans have ripped Zac Lee a new one this year, but you expect better of former players. It's one thing for me to criticize Lee (and I have), but it would be another thing if Grant Wistrom or some other former NU player was attacking him personally like this.

It's times like these that I have to temper my criticism of these players. Fans and ex-players do have the chance to hurt their team with their message board complaining. I'm sure this stuff only reinforces Tyler Gabberts decision not to go to Columbia. Obviously, you wouldn't want him anyway.

In any event, Austin Huff must be pretty stupid and obviously a pretty mediocre player. It's not like he's playing on Sundays himself either.

May i repeat Gabbert is only a sophomore... and i would pin Saturday's loss on the team as a whole and most importantly the coaching staff.

And not only is Gabbert a sophomore, but he is surrounded by young players, on both sides of the ball. This team is young and learning to battle through adversity.

I will admit, losing to Baylor at home just cannot happen, but to say just cause we lost that game that Gabbert is not a winner is just ridiculous. How about some improvement from the defense?? A defense that was awful last year... How about some adjustments from the coaching staff?

Did Gabbert play defense Saturday?

How many points had Baylor averaged in its 3 previous games? I think it was less than 10, and they had a 3rd string freshman quarterback playing. Our defense failed in this game.

haha that Austin Huff dude was a walk-on who couldn't sniff the field. Probably just a little jealous of Blaine.

Sorry Joe, if Gabbert isn't in New York at the end of the year collecting a Heisman than he's a complete bust. Just not as a football but as a person.

Doesn't matter if he has thrown for 2,364 yards, has 20 total tds, and a rating of 134.29. He is the only player that matters and there is no way a player can get better.

I don't know how anyone can have watched the Nebraska and OSU games and defer Gabbert doesn't have heart or isn't a competitor. You could almost feel his pain and he still kept us in the game. This year hasn't gone as planned but we got a winner in Gabbert.

Missouri's problems are on the coaches. Running the ball out of the shotgun everytime is insane. why not let the qb operate from under center once in awhile? How about some I formations? The off. coordinator is in over his head.
Having Gabbert roll out on a high ankle sprain for 2/3 games is just stupid. Can't run, can't plant his foot, throws the ball 20 yards above the receiver.
Freshman comes in and throws for over 400 yds? nice in game adjustments.
I love college football, but sometimes, you're teams just tick you off.

I don't feel sorry for him. He is a tough kid (see ankle injury), but does not have the leadership ability or winning attitude to be a consistent winner. Chase Daniel had that edge about him that he wasn't going to lose, he was a winner. Gabbert is all about the tools and less about the game.

I wish him the best, he just doesn't have the leadership a team like this needs at qb to take us far and hopefully Franklin will come in next year and give him a run for his money.

Yeah, Daniel would never lose to team like Iowa State in his first year as a starter....

It also helps having Jeremy Maclin, Chase Coffman, Martin Rucker, Will Franklin, and Tony Temple as your weapons.

I'm just gonna insert a facepalm picture into my signature and press send from now on when I respond to people on this board following a loss. For now:
