LOLOL. Blame Gabbert. Uh, we gave up 40 points while Gabbert threw for 468 yards. Good Gabbert, Bad team.

I'm with you. What a bunch of garbage being posted here. Does Gabbert go from superstar to stupid every game during halftime? I think not. It's the coaches, stupid.

Plus, we scored 32 points on Saturday. Not that scoring 3 offensive points in the second half is anything to be proud of. But, if we had anything more than a JUCO defense, 32 points should have been more than enough to beat freakin' Baylor.

Leave Gabbert alone. The kid is doing fine. It's his coaches and defensive teammates that are the problem.

Ahhh yes, because when I think of "High School Football Powerhouse" I always think of 3 schools:

-Southlake Carrol (TX)
-Youngstown Cheney (OH)
-Parkway West

Don't give me the bs about the players around him etc, if you are "a future first round draft pick" you should dominate the game in HS. The truth is he did not. What you see now is what you get. Camp superstar, nothing more.

This is why I agree with you, and got hammered for my comments. He should have been able to completely takeover high school level games based solely on his ability and still was not able to. How is he supposed to be able to takeover games at this level. Chase Daniel was winning on one of the higher levels in Texas which is not comparable to Missouri in football and Gabbert was around .500 in a fairly easy Missouri conference.

Again, where is the stats that show his conference was a weak one? First off, his senior year in high school he was hurt for over half of the season. Second, Parkway Central (12-2), Eureka (9-1), and Parkway North (7-3) were all very solid teams that year. Third, if you can name another big name player who is playing college football from that team (besides his brother), that list would be very short, if any, and shows why he wasn't able to personally win football games. It is near impossible for a Pro-Style QB (deep drops, great arm, not exceptionally mobile) to be solely responsible for a win at any level. Where did Chase Daniel go to HS? Southlake Carroll, 3-time state champ and 1 time runner up while Chase was in HS. Was he an outstanding HS QB? Absolutely. He only played for two years at QB though, and played with a roster that would beat any MO team by 3 TD's. That school is littered with NFL talent, and I would love to see a comparison between size and skill of Parkway West and Southlake when each was a senior. Don't be naive, as good as Chase was in HS, he DID NOT single-handily win games, it is impossible, especially in Texas.

Did Gabbert beat you out for the QB position in high school or something? Did his team demolish your team? Did he kick your dog? You clearly have an unhealthy and irrational hate for the guy. Just calm down.

Gabbert is an excellent QB. You would have to be a total idiot not to see that.

It is plain and simple - I have watched and played at the upper level and yes Blaine has all the tools to be a great QB except knowing how to win. He is scared to get hit, throws balls up for grab, does not read and understand defenses quick enough, he is fast but not quick with his feet, and even though he has a cannon for an arm he is not very accurate.
His completion percentage is high ONLY because of all the 5 yard passes he throws and Alexander making spetacular catches. I believe this year will be better then next because he will be loosing Alexander and Perry.

OK, what the hay, I'll bite:

Where/when did you play? Please list your credentials, if you don't mind.

haha that Austin Huff dude was a walk-on who couldn't sniff the field. Probably just a little jealous of Blaine.

Do not ever insult a walk on. They work their Exclamation off to stand on the sideline on saturdays. And he has a point...good QBs/Leaders do not get up slow.

Well....Southlake Carrol was one of the top 10 programs in the nation during the end of Todd Dodge's tenure there.

From 2003-2006 SLC ranked nationaly according to USA Today

Nationally
2003-19th
2004 -1rst
2005-2nd
2006-1rst

I'm going to ignore the portion where you reference your 8th grade year at QB and move onto the meat of what you said. Their are seniors who's reads aren't very good, Blaine is a true sophomore, first year starter. Against CU he got lazy after we got up and started to lock onto people. The next week at the Baylor game I was at, he progressed through reads, and typically hit the right receiver. Jared Perry dropped four perfectly thrown balls. Jerrel Jackson dropped a ball that Blaine placed in between 3 DBs right over Jackson's shoulder, 30 yards downfield. The same type of throw they were doting on Ben Roethlisberger for making against Denver tonight. Chase came in after running the spread for 6 years prior to coming to Mizzou, he knew the ins and outs already. Blaine didn't and is clearly miles ahead of Chase talent wise.

Give him time with Yost, who despite what you may say of him as an offensive coordinator, has proven he can coach a QB. So has Pinkel. I look forward to his Heisman campaign his senior year.
