this story states that Michael Vick is not happy. Don't you wonder what makes him happy? I hope he never is happy. Probably karma that this will come back to me, but I will never be involved in dog fighting.

oh, how cute! someone who never posts about sports is commenting about an athlete.
let me ask you this. do you think he can do better than just being the wildcat quarterback? do you put him out there under centre and let him drop back and pass? or do you line him up as a wide reciever and try to make some trick plays, like teams have with antwaan randle-el?

you probably cant answer. stick to your dogs and other current events. go back to your pet talk and gardening. let the sports people deal with him as a football player. Rolling Eyes

Look out, spirit, looks like you have a flaming stalker of some kind who doesn't realize they are in the pet forum!

Michael Vick may be a great athlete, but he is sadly lacking in the humanity department. What a hideous role model he makes--and you can't deny that we hold our sports heroes up to some level of semi-deity, and that makes them a role model to children whether they accept that label or not--and a poor example of what a man could/should be.

Yes they are. In a pet forum. About an athlete involved in dog fighting.

Understand now?

I was holding my breath thinking I had posted in the Sports thread. Thank you for informing me that it was where I wanted it to be. Mainly, for people who care about pets, not football players. I do know that many athletes think more of their pets than Michael Vick. Even Tony LaRussa is involved in dog rescue. I am sure he wouldn't approve of this players interests.

Thank you all for your comments. As I said, when I first read the first response I was truly embarrassed. My dogs are like family, more important than any sports game.

I just wonder how Michael Vick would feel chained to one of these giant chains? I don't think he would be able to break lose either. Just an awful story and these dogs didn't deserve this.

Don't worry about Vick, he's a back-up QB and his playing days are just about over. I just hope he is kept away from dogs, meaning he can't get a dog for his kids. He messed up big time. And I think he thinks the only thing he did wrong was get caught. Vick is stupid, and you can't fix stupid.

"Can't fix stupid" that is such a great quote and the man who said it was my type of person. Jim White! Told you like it is. He never wanted to fool anyone for any reason. I never heard him mention dogs. Well, even if he didn't have dog I am sure he wouldn't approve of Mr. Vick either. Like you said, he got caught. I am so thankful he did and so are lots of dogs. Guess it pays to pray for protection from evil.
