The great thing about capitalism is that virtually anything — even stupid statements, or possibly especially stupid statements — can be turned into merchandise.
For those residing on another planet for the last few months, U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, R-Wildwood, drew the ire and fire of politic opponents on Aug. 19, when he said in an interview that women who were victims of "legitimate rape" rarely got pregnant. Akin is squared off against incumbent Democrat Claire McCaskill in November's U.S. Senate race.
Can't imagine Akin blowing this one.
The company founders are both Missourians. One of them, Amanda Zaydman, said she wanted to channel frustration over Akin's remark "into something positive."
