After 20 years together, KSDK-Channel 5 and longtime education reporter Sharon Stevens are parting ways next month.

Stevens joined KSDK in 1993 after spending 10 years at KTVI-Channel 2.

In an internal memo circulated today, employees were told Stevens' last day would be July 10, station sources said.

KSDK news director Mike Shipley said Stevens has decided to pursue other interests.

"We wish Sharon nothing but the very best and we are so thankful for the service that she has given us, and this community," Shipley said.

Stevens, who was unavailable for comment Wednesday, was elected to the St. Louis Media Hall of Fame in 2011. She received numerous professional awards and also is a past vice president of the National Association of Black Journalists.
