I'm sure they are nice people, but it's still a disturbing trend. I like a cozy wrap as much as the next person, but the animal heads just evoke images of Max from "Where the Wild Things Are."
That's not bad, unless you're over the age of 10.
There are lots of goofy fashion trends and I don't think this deserves any more vitriol than the next, but one day I saw three people walking down the street in faux animal head hats and scarfs and I had to concentrate really hard not to swerve off the road.
Makes you wonder if there's something childlike that people are returning to or an adulthood that they are trying to escape from. I am forever trying to make sense of trends that involve wearing pajamas outside, adorning your hair with feathers and leaves or walking around with furry animal ears on your head.
I've been dreaming of a flouncy 6-layer Tinsel Town tulle skirt from shabbyapple.com that looks confectionery and whimsical -- some might say childish. And I will forever be enamored with sparkly, shiny things, so perhaps I have no right to besmirch the animal beheaded among us.
Yet walking along a dark sidewalk, who'd you rather meet?
