Buffalo Blue Designs and Red Anvil Art have joined forces to open St. Louis latest retail venture, Screaming Mimi.

Together Kate (Red Anvil) and Allyson (Buffalo Blue) have added one more shop to the region's burgeoning collection of indie shops in Maplewood.

Screaming Mimi, 2718 Sutton, is being billed as a new concept that combines a florist, wedding accessory shop, handmade boutique and a soon-to-be christened craft classroom.

Stop by Saturday from 12 to 7 p.m. to shop for gifts for the unconventional bridal or semi-formal occasion, as well as sweet, crafty, unique items for men, women and children. To make your shopping trip worthwhile, there will be live music, snacks and drinks.

You'll find jewelry, hair accessories, flowers and clothing. Eventually, the shop will book space for handmade parties and groups looking to host craft time activities.
