Fashion highlights from the Golden Globes
AP's Natalie Rotman on the Golden Globe red carpet talks about Madonna, Angelina, Color and the 1920's fashion trend that ruled. (Jan. 16)

Other than a little green and a touch of magenta, nudes, blush and gray are the colors of the Golden Globes red carpet.

Kirstin Wiig is wearing a lovely 70s vibe gown complete with era-appropriate gold medallion necklace.

And Jessica Chastain has one of my favorite gowns with an atypical mock turtleneck collar and pearl detail throughout.

Of course, Charlize Theron has enough appeal to make even soft colors uber-sexy, but the standard, obligatory, so-off-the-slit pose makes her outfit look cheap. It's not a good look to have that deep V and high-slit in the same shot. Sometimes, if you got it, you don't have to flaunt it.

Love, love subtle age-appropriate (I hate that phrase) dresses on Julie Bowen and Diane Lane. Their looks are sweet and mature and a little nod to silver screen age glamour.
