• When did you start painting on Toms Shoes? I started a few years ago when I worked at Nordstrom as an assistant department manager in the women's shoe department. We had a "Style Your Sole" event with Toms Shoes, and I was one of the featured artists.

• Do you paint on other shoes? I began painting on Toms Shoes because of the opportunity I was given through the "Style Your Sole" event and Cha Boutique owned by Sarah Garlich. The shoes benefit a great cause, "One for One." With every pair of Toms purchased, a pair is donated to a child in need. Because of my love of shoes and painting, I felt this was a perfect way to express it, while also contributing to a wonderful charity. I also paint on any canvas, leather, cotton, and other shoe materials as well as wall murals and furniture.

• What are your prices? The prices usually range from $20 to $50 a pair (for the painting), and can go up from there depending on the intricacy of the design and amount of color used.

• How long have you been painting? I've been painting on other mediums my whole life.

• Explain your process. I freehand every design on the shoe. For a darker color, I start with a light base, which allows the color of the paint to become more vibrant. Once the design is outlined and detailed, I spray a finishing protectant over the paint to prevent fading and to seal the design.

• Where did your inspiration come from? My inspiration came from the joy and satisfaction I saw on my first customer's face.

• Do you have a favorite shoe designer? Yes, it's Christian Louboutin. Hopefully, one day I will own a pair.

• Do you work full time? I am a full-time artist. I also work part time at Cha Boutique painting Toms Shoes and also work as a sales associate.
