Mark your calendar for Oct. 23 when the St. Charles County Parks Department will sponsor the Moonlight Mountain Bike Ride in Indian Camp Creek Park.

Where • 2679 Dietrich Road on the St. Charles-Lincoln county line. Dietrich Road, about one mile west of Highway 61.

How long • The winding system of trails is 10 miles.

Surface • For the Moonlight Mountain Bike Ride, families and beginners can stay on the paved road. Others can take the trail which is natural and multi-use, meaning hikers, bikers and horses.

Difficulty • The paved roads are easy; the spaghetti bowl of trails ranges from easy to challenging.

Users notes • St. Charles County Parks has arranged for a full moon. It's heavily forested and leaves are turning. For a scenic route, head north-northwest to the part of the trail that rides along Big Creek. Park staff will be available to lead tours, but intrepid loners can take off on their own.

Requirements • Riders must wear helmets and the bikes must have lights.

How much • Free.

Facilities • Water, restrooms and picnic areas throughout the park along the roads.

Disabled access • On the paved roads.

Pets • On leash.
