Hailey Elizabeth Yancy was born at 12:02 a.m. at St. Mary's Health Center in Richmond Heights. At 6 pounds, 10 ounces, Hailey was the first baby born in the St. Louis area in 2012, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Hailey and proud parents Dina Hill of Venice, Ill., and Mario Yancy of University City are all doing well. Hailey was the first by just three minutes. Another baby girl was born at 12:05 a.m., also at St. Mary's.
