What he makes • Jacob is a clothing line designer, creating a line of shirts, sweaters and hats. You can buy his clothing items at Zay-Zah.com.

• Tell us about yourself. I'm a full-time student at Lindenwood University. I graduated high school from CBC in Town and Country. I began my collegiate academic career at Springfield College in Massachusetts where I studied and played lacrosse. I decided to transfer to continue playing lacrosse in my hometown, watch my little brother grow up in high school and start sales of products for Zay-Zah Clothiers.

• When did you start designing and selling? I started designing my products in summer 2010. I was working at an internship on the financial investment side of banking and realized that I wanted to go elsewhere with my profession, so I started a sketch pad and started with clothing and logo ideas. I started selling my clothing through different website ventures before I made my own domain and my own online store.

• Do you design all the clothes you sell? Yes. I design all of my own clothes, from the logos to the fabric for the clothing. But, I have started working with artists that I give artistic command in what they want to use. Many people send me designs all the time, and sometimes I use their ideas.

• How do you choose your designs? The designs that I use have been very simplistic yet stylish with color pairings. I feel that keeping it simplistic has reflected my image of being a comfortable clothing line that you can wear anywhere. I'm coming up with a bit more of a complicated design that is here for the winter. I call it Day n' Night, and it hit the shelves on Dec. 12.

• What are your prices? All my tees are $19.95 each. The hat in this photo is also $19.95. I try to set a price point for all of our products and keep them constant.

• Do you have a favorite T-shirt designer? Yes. My favorite designer would be LuLu Lemon. I say this because they have the same sort of mission that I do. They want their customer to feel comfortable in what they wear and stylish. I feel LuLu Lemon is lacking in certain areas such as men's clothing, and that is where I have tried to find my niche.

• What else are you working on? In the long run, I have been in talks with some other designers about pairing our talents and coming up with a denim line. I feel that denim is huge, and from a men's point of view, many denim companies are lacking in certain areas that I would like to take advantage of.
