EAST ALTON -- A man who claimed he had four accomplices on Sunday robbed the Farm Fresh Store, 740 East Airline Drive.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department said two clerks told deputies that a man walked into the store about 9:25 p.m. and said he needed money. He said he did not have a gun, but four men outside the store did. The clerks handed the robber a small amount of money, the department said.

Video surveillance of the store will help capture the suspect, the department said. A police dog from the Granite City Police Department helped track the direction the suspect fled.
