VARIETY HONORS: Michael Neidorff and Thelma Steward are Variety's 2012 Man & Woman of the Year.
Variety, the Children's Charity -- formerly known as Variety Club -- plans to announce the honorees' names tomorrow at its annual board meeting.
This year's Variety Man & Woman were former Ambassador George H. (Bert) Walker and Pat Mercurio. Steward is a Variety board member and her husband, David Steward, chairman and founder of World Wide Technology, Inc., is the charity's board president.
Variety will be celebrating its 80th anniversary next year.
At the board meeting tomorrow, Variety is planning to treat the board to a sneak preview of its production of "The Wizard of Oz," which will be performed at the Touhill Performing Arts Center, Oct. 21-23.
During the production, Variety put together an online documentary that follows two newcomers to Variety Children's Theatre during the second week of rehearsals. You can see the documentary on YouTube by clicking here.
Tickets for the show start at $15 each and may be purchased here.
