LOST IN THE JUNGLE: The story of Ken Wilson of Bonne Terre, Mo., nearly dying in Mexico's Cozumel Jungle is the topic of this season's premier episode of Animal Planet's "I Shouldn't Be Alive," set to air Thursday and Friday.

Wilson is general manager of the Maya Palms Resort, a Caribbean beach resort owned by Catherine and Doug Goergens, who also own West End Diving in Bonne Terre.

Wilson was on a Mayan ruins tour when he lost his way and became disoriented. With temperatures above 100 degrees and no food, water or supplies, Wilson managed -- remarkably -- to walk out of the jungle 19 days after he got lost.

The story involves the Goergens relentless search efforts, the assistance of local Cozumel citizens, and the aid and cooperation of the U.S. and Mexican governments. Maya Palms Resort is in Mahahual, Mexico, four hours south of Cancun. The episode involving Wilson was shot at the resort, which is on the edge of the Yucatan peninsula's jungle.
