MAKING MUSIC: Vatterott College and its ex'treme Institute by Nelly are sponsoring a speakers series that will begin March 1 with Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks, co-stars of the reality show, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."
The point of the series is to help teach aspiring musicians and producers how to break into the music business. Speakers will provide tips on how to be successful in a variety of musical careers, such as producing, engineering, singing and songwriting.
Burruss and Parks have extensive experience in the entertainment field aside from their roles on "Real Housewives." Burruss is a Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter who is known for her work with music groups such as Xscape and TLC.
Parks is an entertainment attorney who served as a legal analyst for NBC and Fox News while Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, was on trial. In 2010, Parks was recognized by the Atlanta Business League as one of that city's "Top Women of Influence."
The March 1 event will be at the Lumiere Place Casino Theater Room starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person and include light appetizers. A limited number of VIP seats are available for $55. To purchase tickets online, click here. For more information call 314-657-4444.
