OH, THAT QUESTION: This week's edition of the Riverfront Times takes as its jumping-off point a story that was published in the Post-Dispatch on Feb. 7 about an academic study to determine whether St. Louis' high school question is hurting the region.

"Where You Should've Gone to High School," by Aimee Levitt, is the weekly newspaper's cover story and it takes up five inside pages, including a flow chart you can follow to help determine the answer.

While they don't answer the question of whether "The Question" is hurting our reputation, they do have a lot of fun with the flow chart. As a transplant, which the RFT says makes a person "an ideal target for shunning," I've lived here long enough to know that the chart is on target, especially since it adds the following disclaimer: "This chart is, or course, based on gross stereotypes, but isn't that part of what the high school question is about?"
