Here's a look at stories we're following on STLtoday and in this weekend's Post-Dispatch.
Honoring veterans: The names of the 6,507 service men and women who lost their lives in the wars following 9-11 will be read during a candlelight vigil on the steps of Soldiers Memorial tonight. On Saturday, a parade downtown will honor Iraq war veterans.
Remembering Rocky: Saturday also is the anniversary of the day that Iranian hostage Marine Corps Sgt. Rocky Sickmann returned home to Missouri. On Jan. 28, 1981, he ended 444 wrenching days in captivity. "Freedom is everything, and we have it," Sickmann, 23, shouted heartily. We'll take a look back at that moment.
Solutia sale: Eastman acquires Solutia for $3.4 billion. When big deals like this go down, it frequently means the loss of jobs at the company HQ. We'll explore what that means for the 300 employees at the Town and Country office.
Deal madness: Today's Deal on STLtoday is one of many deal sites that consumers are flocking to. However, there are some signs that the daily deal craze is beginning to level off. We'll be looking at a number of St. Louis-based companies who are still banking on continued growth.
Twitter censor: First Facebook tells us that we'll have to change our profile pages this week to adapt to the new timeline feature. Now Twitter announces that it will be able to censor its messages on a country-by-country basis. We'll follow the upheaval among the social networks.
