No one wants to be laid off from their job, and that's especially true of five police officers in Michigan.
Police in Bay City, Mich., paid for two billboards that say laying off five cops could lead to more shootings, stabbings, robberies and beatings.
One of the billboards makes reference to the city's decision to put a new roof on City Hall by saying that a new roof won't stop you from being beaten, robbed...but five police officers could have.
The mayor says the billboards might be a little "over the top" while drawing attention to the five layoffs. The city commission president was more direct, calling the billboards "distasteful and harmful to the community."
How would you feel about such a tactic in your community? Is this a scare tactic gone too far, or an honest worst-case scenario? And would a billboard spur you to take any action, like calling city offices to tell officials what you thought?
