The bad news is getting worse for actor Mel Gibson.
He was already under fire for reportedly using the "N" word when ranting at his ex-girlfriend that if she were raped, it would be her fault for dressing too provocatively. (And this comes after his 2006 arrrest for drunk driving when he went on a diatribe against Jews -- and later apologized profusely for doing so.)
Now, another tape has surfaced that is supposed to be a phone call between Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva, his former girlfriend and the mother of his infant daughter. The tape was first posted by radaronline, a celebrity entertainment site.
I'm posting a link here, with a strong warning: The language is incredibly foul and the tape is very disturbing to hear. The man on this tape uses very deragotary terms toward women and drops the 'f' bomb more times than I cared to count.
(Not surprisingly, Gibson's representatives have had no comment on this latest bombshell.)
Graham King, who produced one of Gibson's recent movies, "Edge of Darkness," told the Los Angeles Times that he initially wondered if America really wanted to sit down with Gibson in a theater with the lights out.
In Gibson's case, or in others, does a performer's behavior in 'private' life influence whether you would spend money on a movie, album, concert or book? And should it? So many celebrities, sports figures and entertainers do everything possible to win fame and fortune, then clamor for their privacy.
Should there be a line drawn between those public and private lives?
