ST. LOUIS • A West Virginia man arrested in St. Louis last year pleaded guilty Friday to multiple child sex-related charges, prosecutors said.
Jack E. Gravenmier, 79, pleaded guilty to two counts of production of child pornography, one count of attempt to persuade a minor to engage in sexual activity, one count of travel with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, two counts of producing child porn and two counts of possession of child porn.
He was arrested in February after traveling to the area to meet and have sex with someone he thought was a minor, charging documents claim. It was really a Troy, Mo., police detective.
During his communications with the detective posing as the boy, Gravenmier boasted of his child porn collection and spoke of other minors with whom he'd had sex, the charging documents allege.
Gravenmier could face up to life in prison when he is sentenced April 18. He also agreed to forfeit two vehicles and his home in West Virginia.
