ST. LOUIS -- A prostitute became enraged when a man who wanted sex confided that he had no money. She stabbed him in the face and stole his car, police say.

The attack happened just before 1 a.m. Monday in the 5500 block of Wells Avenue, in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood of St. Louis.

The 49-year-old man, who was stabbed several times in the face, was found lying in a parking lot on Wells. He was in serious condition at a local hospital, police say. His name is being withheld.

The woman took off in the man's green 1999 Buick Century. The car has a handicap license plate F7KG. No arrests have been made.
