ST. LOUIS • A Florissant man who broke into vehicles, stole debit and credit cards and used them to charge more than $100,000 was sentenced in federal court to four and a half years in federal prison, the U.S. Attorney's office said Thursday.

Jarod Parker, 32, targeted vehicles at various public parks and events for two years beginning Aug. 1, 2008, including Shaw, Creve Coeur, Conway and Millennium parks, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and St. Louis Cardinals games.

Parker would steal the cards, then using the victims' personal information, change the PINs and addresses associated with the cards.

A total of 96 individuals and 26 business suffered losses at the hands of Parker, prosecutors said.

Parker pleaded guilty in federal court here in December to one felony count of aggravated identity theft and one felony count of access device fraud.
