ROXANA - The Madison County Sheriff's Department will sign up prospective volunteers Aug. 21 for the county's new Child Abduction Response Team. Applicants will be asked to provide information needed to perform background checks.

The department is looking for people from various walks of life willing to help with searches or other activities when a child abduction occurs. Applications will be taken at Central Elementary School at 601 North Chaffer Avenue in Roxana between 1 and 3 p.m.
