UPDATED:

WELLSTON -- A 10th grade student was injured in a shooting this afternoon across the street from Normandy High shortly after school let out.

The male student was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, school officials said.

Police took two men into custody who were not Normandy students near the scene of the shooting, district spokeswoman Charlene Goston said in a written statement.

The Wellston Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, is investigating.

No further information was available from school officials.
