EDWARDSVILLE - One of two men involved in a fight Tuesday morning at the Madison County Administration Building was charged with aggravated battery on Wednesday.

Charged was Barry T. Loman, 55, of the 800 block of Timber Lake Drive. His bail was set at $30,000.

Sheriff's Capt. Brad Wells said Loman was a part-time employee in the supervisor of assessments office and left a message on a supervisor's phone about 7 a.m. and said he was resigning.

Wells said Loman then came to the administration building and struck a co-worker, a full-time employee of the assessments office, as the man stepped off an elevator. The two were struggling when deputies arrived.

The alleged victim was Anthony Manoogian, according to the charge.

Joe Parente, the county's director of administration, said county officials notified Loman after the incident that his resignation was accepted.
