Delivery truck hits transformer in Ladue, knocks out power to John Burroughs School

UPDATED at 5:30 p.m with power outage status.

LADUE • A delivery truck drove into a transformer outside of John Burroughs School in Ladue, knocking out power to the school and surrounding areas, according to school officials.

A Federal Express truck hit the transformer outside the school at 755 South Price Road about 11:17 a.m. No one was hurt.

School secretary Jennifer Bond said power to the school was knocked out. Phone lines were also disrupted for a time.

Classes were not cancelled.

Ameren Missouri said 218 customers, including the school, lost power in the outage. By 5:30 p.m. power had been restored to all customers, a spokeswoman said.
