ST. CHARLES COUNTY • A Florissant man cut a coworker in the stomach with a pair of scissors during an argument at the Nike manufacturing plant in St. Charles County.
The incident happened at around 5:16 p.m. Friday at the plant at the Missouri Research Park near Weldon Spring, said Lt. Craig McGuire of the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department.
The two employees got into an argument, threw punches, and the suspect, 63, cut the victim in the abdomen with a pair of scissors, he said. The victim, a man, 40, of St. Louis, was transported to a hospital with what was described as a superficial wound. When police got there, the suspect was sitting in a manager's office waiting for them.
The victim may have been the primary aggressor in the situation, McGuire said, and the suspect was released from custody. The case will be submitted to the prosecuting attorney's office for review.
