FRANKLIN COUNTY • Two men were injured, one fatally, when an SUV ran off Route T, struck a culvert and went through a fence and down an embankment Friday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the 1994 Ford Explorer was driven by Clarence R. Ross, 38, of Beaufort and was eastbound on Route T about 1.2 miles east of Old Highway 100 when the crash happened at 9:35 p.m.

Clarence Ross was flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur where he was pronounced dead at 11:26 p.m.

A passenger, William R. Ross, 41, of Labadie, was taken to the same hospital with serious injuries.
